BlueFX does not require the Epson Order Controller to print to Epson SureLab printers. However, it can send jobs to the Controller if you prefer to perform image editing before printing. This allows you to extend the capabilities of the Epson software with features like package printing, templates, and order fulfillment.

Yes — the D1070SE/D1070DE can be used with Darkroom via BlueFX’s Print-by-Proxy, just as with the earlier DX100 model.
In this setup, Darkroom sends print jobs to a small number of supported printer types as normal. BlueFX monitors those job files and imports them to be printed to the D1070 behind the scenes. This means you don’t need to leave Darkroom, create multiple printer setups, or handle output manually — BlueFX handles the redirection automatically.
You can print standard sizes directly, and custom sizes can be created on the fly by BlueFX when needed. The workflow remains familiar for Darkroom users, while enabling support for the newer DX1000 series without additional complexity.

Yes. BlueFX accepts Sunshine Photo Cart CSV exports or hot-folder drops, pulls high-resolution files from local image servers if needed, and drives the Epson SureLab family – including the D1070 (SureLab D1000 series) and prior units such as D800/D870 and D3000.
The software can performs format conversion, batch and cluster printing, automated paper-width and cut-length selection, and adds job separators and routing rules to streamline production and packing for WordPress photo-cart workflows.

Yes. BlueFX can be used with Darkroom via Print‑by‑Proxy: Darkroom prints to a small number of supported printer types as normal, and BlueFX monitors the job files and redirects them to the Epson SureLab printer behind the scenes.
This avoids setting up lots of Windows printers for each size, and BlueFX can create custom print sizes on the fly when needed (useful for automated fulfilment and mixed‑format orders).

Yes. BlueFX can import a CSV/spreadsheet where each row describes a print line (filename/image, product, copy count) and convert it into a production job for automated printing on Epson SureLab devices.
The CSV can be extended with extra fields (e.g., backprint info, packing/delivery note fields, template variables for greeting cards and other personalised photo products) so orders can be produced with less manual handling.
Yes. Certain Epson SureLab models such as the D1000 Series (with double-sided tray option) support duplex photo batch printing which can be used for photobooks (made in Adobe Lightroom for example) and other double-sided photo products.

Yes. Mac exports placed into a hot folder or network share are processed by the InsituaFX Print-by-Proxy service running on a Windows 10/11 PC, which generates required sizes, applies templates and forwards the jobs to the Epson SureLab D1070. Operators do not need multiple printer entries or manual driver changes on the Mac.

The InsituaFX Print-by-Proxy workflow for Epson Surelab uses a printer or software proxy (e.g. BlueFX / BlueControl) to accept orders in multiple formats and reliably route production prints to target lab devices.
InsituaFX Print-by-Proxy can also be considered a redirection approach where a legacy application outputs to a supported “proxy” printer type, and BlueFX watches the resulting job files and re-routes them to newer printers behind the scenes. This keeps the operator workflow familiar while modernising the output device.
