Expertise
Furthermore there were challenges in the management of images.
Challenges such as Internet print ordering systems, image libraries, social networking, events photography and schools photography (all would involve the use of picture metadata in some form).
So, these represent some of the areas that have embraced and advanced the technology.
In-house expertise has been instrumental in the development of photographic kiosks.
In this regard we have created printing solutions for the Retail Industry, Events Industry, and for Theme Parks worldwide.
And most importantly, was the ability to handle and manipulate a wide range of image file formats.
Sometimes they contained damaged exif headers that might even have been created by the photo editing software itself. For others, image capture software might not have preserved camera or other metadata information. As a result, images required repairing.
This repair was sometimes undertaken alongside normal image correction. Such tasks included: image rotation, image resizing, image resampling (to match the format of target photoprinters) and image enhancement to improve the appearance of the digital image.
From the outset we have undertaken custom software programming to provide custom interfaces. As a result numerous software licenses have been deployed to a variety of devices for paper, film and digital.
These have included legacy applications which used protocols such as C4/C5, SCSI, GPIB, PfDF (via .b00 files), C8 and some proprietary protocols; Internet Protocol and USB.
These required the use of manufacturers Software Development Kit (SDK) like Adobe© Acrobat X SDK. And at other times this required direct software programming of the hardware. In either case it provided a path for legacy migration and an on-going legacy software support structure within a software maintenance process.

Now with “BlueFX” we are able to convert orders including DPOF from a number of Kiosks like Noritsu© CT and Oblo© to support various MiniLabs. These include the Epson SureLab© D3000, Fuji Drylabs, and other printing devices.
For one implementation, BlueFX drives the process to target a designated d-Lab; enable Cluster printing with multiple d-Labs; and sets the profiling of orders. In another case, BlueFX enables the download and management of XML orders to a Web fulfilment workflow – editing, color correcting, printing.
More generally, we are also custom software developers. We are involved in servicing software, undertaking custom and bespoke software coding not just involving “picture code”.
Therefore we are able to deal with application support and computer software maintenance of legacy code and other software maintenance activities (as part of a legacy software support structure).
BlueFX has simple, powerful tools to make your ideal workflow a reality. See how…
